Super cheap, fresh and friendly service, Honest Burgers definitely lives up to its name. Having now established a second restaurant in Soho, the original Brixton burger restaurant is bringing great prices and great food to Central London.
On a quiet little side street just off Wardour Street, Honest Burgers offers a change of pace from the hip burger joints like Lucky Chip and Meat Liquor. Instead of loud thumping music, graffiti, and eating off trays and plastic plates, Honest Burgers has a very homely feel with mostly wooden decor and serves good size portions, with absolutely no grease, and a no frills meal.
I had the veggie fritter for £6.50 which included a reasonable sized portion of their love-at-first-bite rosemary seasoned chips. The burger had a really fresh taste with a cucumber yoghurt sauce which was to die for.
Having only opened a week ago, the Soho restaurant is quite quiet at the moment. But I can definitely understand why people queue for hours to get into the Brixton one.
This is definitely one of the best student budget friendly restaurants in Central London I have been to. I cannot wait to visit again and try their homemade lemonade, which you can order with a scoop of vanilla ice cream… It sounds divine!
